Bunche Montessori Early Childhood Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has embraced a way to give their students practical lessons in experiencing what some children face each day in order to get water. For the second year in a row, their month-long program, in support of The Water Project, has developed awareness and gratitude. For example, students were confronted with “drinking water” polluted with sticks and mud, and they were required to carry water to their classrooms from the furthest end of the school, rather than use classroom faucets.
In addition, families raised money for The Water Project and students were shown pictures of children in Kenya enjoying clean, fresh water from the well Bunche helped build with their donations
